De aanwezigheid van waterplanten geeft overlast voor de scheepvaart indien deze binnen het vaarwegprofiel aanwezig zijn. Het is de taak van de Provincie Fryslân om het vaarwegprofiel begaanbaar te houden. Deze aanbesteding heeft betrekking op het door de inschrijver te leveren personeel en materieel voor het op aanwijs verwijderen, verzamelen en afvoeren van waterplanten.
