Description
AU has procured two 111 Bragg crystal of HPHT type IIa diamond for use as a beam splitter and large horizontal offset monochromators, to extract a monochromatic beam for the SINCRYS sidestation project. SINCRYS will be a sidestation to DanMAX at the MAX IV 3 GeV synchrotron storage ring located in Lund, Sweden. The crystals must have thicknesses of 0.1 mm for the beamsplitter and 0.5 mm for the second monochromator crystal. The usable surface area must be maximal, and minimally 8 x 4 mm2 to fulfill the scientific requirements of the SINCRYS. The diamond plate should have approximate dimensions of 8 x 8 mm2 (to allow for accommodate mounting and thermal contact to cooling unit). A crystal with the required exceptionally high quality has only been identified at Almax easyLab.
